Learn to make plain thepla at home.

Thepla is a very famous gujrati recepie which is eaten cammonly as breakfast or as snacks with tea and sometimes also eaten as side dish with their meal.

Making thepla is very easy. The process and requirements is given below. So read it, make it and enjoy the recipe with your family and friends.


SI.   REQUIREMENTS                   QUANTITY

1.Wheat flour (Gehu ka ata)       300gm

2.Mustard Oil (Sarso ka tel)        2 tb spoon

3.Salt (Namak)                     As per your taste

4.Turmeric (Haldi)                      1/2 tb spoon

5.Red chilli powder                     1/2 tb spoon
    (Lal mirch powder) 

6.Water                             As per requirement


Method to make THEPLA:


Take wheat flour (300gm) in a bowl and add salt (as per your taste), turmeric (1/2 tb spoon) and red chilli powder (1/2 tb spoon) to it and mix it perfectly. Then add mustard oil (2 tb spoon) and mix it well and after that add water to it and make a perfect dough.

After you dough is ready, take 6-7 balls out of it and give it a perfect circular shape.

Then, take tawa and cook the all Theplas till it gets golden brown patches on both sides (remember the Thepla should not remain raw).

After you cooked the Thepla, place the Thepla on that pan (Do not off the gas) and pour oil around the round thepla in circular way and also pour little oil over it. Heat it from both side well.

Your delicious Thepla is ready.

Serve it with tomato ketchup, pickles (achar) or curd (dahi).
